Millard West sailed to an easy victory over Elkhorn 12-1 on Friday in the second round of the Frank Ryan Invite.
Millard West scored five runs in the fourth inning. The Wildcats offense in the inning was led by Max Anderson and Ryan David, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Caleb Riedel earned the win for Millard West. He allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out eight and walking zero.
Mitch Kahre took the loss for Elkhorn. He lasted four innings, allowing 11 hits and nine runs while striking out three.
Millard West socked three home runs on the day. David went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Anderson went yard in the fourth inning. Cohen Weaklend had a long ball in the fifth inning.
The Wildcats scattered 12 hits in the game. Eric Standish, Trey Wilbeck, Jackson Wright, and David each collected multiple hits for Millard West. David, Wright, Wilbeck, and Standish each collected two hits to lead Millard West.
Kyler Randazzo went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Elkhorn in hits. Elkhorn didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brayden Bock had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
