Millard West had all cylinders firing on offense on Friday, winning big over Lincoln Southeast 8-1
The Wildcats fired up the offense in the first inning, when Tristan Gomes singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Millard West put up four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by the Wildcats was led by Jackson Meier, Kyan Lodice, and Eric Standish, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Seth Claybourne pitched Millard West to victory. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out four and walking one. Jarod Kojdecki threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Grant Snelling took the loss for Lincoln Southeast. He lasted five innings, allowing ten hits and eight runs while striking out three.
Millard West totaled 11 hits in the game. Lodice and Meier each racked up multiple hits for Millard West. Meier and Lodice each collected two hits to lead the Wildcats. Millard West didn’t commit a single error in the field. Meier had the most chances in the field with five.
Lincoln Southeast racked up six hits in the game. Jackson Doty and Logan Van Treeck all had multiple hits for Lincoln Southeast. Lincoln Southeast was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Grant Detlefsen made the most plays with eight.
