Millard West nabbed the lead late in the game in a 7-2 victory over Burke on Friday. The game was tied at two with Millard West batting in the top of the sixth when an error scored one run for Millard West.
Millard West fired up the offense in the second inning, when Tristan Gomes’s sac fly scored one run for the Wildcats.
Millard West put up four runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by Millard West was led by Max Anderson and Trey Wilbeck, all driving in runs in the frame.
Lucas Ballard pitched Millard West to the victory. He lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking one. Seth Claybourne and Ryan David entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
