The Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving Teams finished up the 2018 – 2019 season in great fashion this past weekend in Lincoln at the Nebraska State Swimming and Diving Meet. The boys’ team finished in 3rd place (first time in Millard West history that a boys’ aquatics team finished in the top 3 two years in a row) with 204 points while the girls improved by 56 points over last year’s finish, totaling 141 points good for an 8th place finish. The Wildcats were led by point scorers Audrey Frohloff, Lainey Woodward, Kylie Grause, Maddie Hertzler, Payton Hall, Kate McCoy, Sydney Hall, Isabella Miceli, and Ana Ortman for the girls and Brock Wilwerding, Nolan Bangtson, Ayden Larson, Gabe Paredes-Reyes, Mateo Miceli, Colin Backhaus, Ben DuBay, Jordan Stalheim, and Brayden Moody for the boys. New school records were set in the 200 Medley Relay (Larson, Paredes-Reyes, Miceli, Backhaus), 100 butterfly (Mateo Miceli), and 100 backstroke (Mateo Miceli) while many others were challenged. An excellent finish to an excellent season, Wildcats!
