After an unplanned weather weekend off, the Wildcats were back at it Tuesday night vs Papillion La Vista…you guessed it – AWAY. Two own goals by Papio helped get the boys off to a flying start in the first 15 minutes. Junior Trevor Green forced the first one off a corner and sophomore Riley Hackbart launched his monster throw in into the box and off a defenders head into the net. It wasn’t for a lack of chances, but it wasn’t until 5 minutes remaining in the macth that sophomore Nate Bauermeister – making his return to play after 3 weeks off – tallied the third and final goal. The assist came from GK Sam Fedde who sent the ball long. Bauermeister found the bounce, played it off his head and got around the defender to calmly find the side netting. Fedde registers the shutout along with his back line which included Jackson McGowan, Jacob Mock, Cameron Olson, Riley Hackbart and Senior Jacob Conway who was solid in his substitute appearance at the right back position. The midfield combination of Hall, Zapata and Gornell were both strong in defense and creative going forward. The chances were there. Senior night is the next match Friday against a strong Papillion La Vista South team AT HOME!! Come support our seniors at a 7:30 kick off.
