The boys varsity cross country team placed 3rd in the Heartland Classic in rainy and muddy Pella, Iowa. The meet was very competitive and had many of the top teams from Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Kansas. The team was led by senior Adam Murphy, who placed 3rd overall. Other medalists include: sophomore Sam Kirchner in 18th and senior Tony Miller in 20th. Freshman Joey Hartnett placed 34th and was the highest freshman finisher in the race. He was followed by sophomore Aidan MacLeod in 45th, sophomore Cole Haith in 80th and junior Austin Goetsche in 86th.

The varsity team is back in action on Monday, September 30th at the UNK Invitational.
