The cross country teams competed at the Millard South Invitational on Friday, September 13 at Walnut Grove Park. The meet featured 5 of the top 10 teams in the Nebraska, including the #1 ranked Lincoln Southwest team. It also included the #1 ranked team in Class B, the #1 ranked team in South Dakota and #1 ranked team in Kansas.
The boys varsity team finished in 2nd place, only 3 points behind Lincoln Southwest. The team was led by senior Adam Murphy, who placed 3rd in a time of 16:16. Other medalists included sophomores Aidan MacLeod and Sam Kircher in 13th and 14th place. Other varsity members included: senior Tony Miller in 18th, freshman Joey Hartnett in 20th, junior Austin Goetsche in 42nd and sophomore Seth Fey in 45th.
The boys JV team placed 2nd as a team and was led by sophomore Cole Haith who was the individual champion in a time of 17:27. Other scoring members included: sophomore Drew Figura in 5th, senior Aidan Kurz in 14th, frehman Piercze Marshall in 16th, and sophomore Christian Naujokaitis in 23rd.
The Wildcats are back in action next week at the Norfolk Invite on Friday and the Heartland Classic in Pella, Iowa on Saturday.
