Millard West picked up a big 6–5 victory over Millard North on Tuesday, marking their second win this season against the preseason No. 1 Mustangs. Senior pitcher
Addison Burdorf led the charge in front of a crowd of about 200, striking out eight batters and holding Millard North to just five hits while also going 2-for-3 at the plate with two extra-base hits, including a clutch home run.
Alex Finley sparked the Wildcats' offense with an infield single in the first, later scoring the opening run, while
Addie Abboud and
Allie Bergman added key contributions. Burdorf's solo homer in the third inning fueled a four-run frame that gave West the edge, and despite late pushes from Millard North, the Wildcats held on for the one-run win. The team, now
5–2, will travel to Shawnee, Kansas, for the
Midwest High School Invitational this Friday and Saturday, where they'll face teams from four states alongside Gretna, Beatrice, and Bellevue East.
