OMAHA — The Millard West Wildcats opened the 2025 football season with a statement win, knocking off rival Millard North 23–12 on Thursday night at Buell Stadium.

The Wildcats controlled the game from the start, leaning on a fast, physical defense that bottled up the Mustangs' attack and never allowed them to find a rhythm. Millard West's defensive front applied steady pressure throughout the night, forcing key stops that kept Millard North from mounting a comeback.

On offense, the Wildcats put together a balanced attack, mixing runs and passes to keep the Mustangs off balance. Timely scoring drives in the second and third quarters stretched the lead, giving Millard West enough cushion to close out the game.

The win moves Millard West to 1–0, while Millard North drops to 0–1. The Wildcats will look to keep their momentum rolling when they host Millard South on Friday, Sept. 5.
