The Wildcats went into a stiff wind in the first half, but were able to take the lead 7 minutes into the match with a goal from
Madison Hutteger off a
Jaelynn Moody assist. The Patriots quickly equalized 90 seconds later and then took the lead with a second goal in the last 3 minutes of the half.
The Wildcats regrouped at halftime and came out strong in the second half. It took some time, but
Harper Knutsen found equalizer with 17 minutes left in the game. The Wildcats kept the pressure on the Patriots, but were unable to find that 3rd goal. Just when it looked like this one was heading to overtime,
Leah Pugliese sent a 1-touch and driven ball to the near post for the lead with 2:29 left of the clock.
The team gets a few days of rest and practice before traveling to Omaha South on Friday for a 7:30 matchup with the Packers.
