The MWJV traveled to Omaha Central and came away with a 62-54 win.
The two teams battled throughout the game as the game had multiple ties and lead changes. Central jumped out to a 13-8 lead with 2:08 left in the first quarter. Jacob Morrison hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to pull the Wildcats to 15-14 at the end of the first quarter.
Central used second-chance points to build a lead in the 2nd quarter. The Eagles led through most of the quarter. They were leading 27-24 with 1:04 left in the half before Matt Erickson on an inbound play. Jack O'Neill made two free throws to give West a 28-27 lead at the half.
The Wildcats jumped out to a lead early in the 34d quarter. With 6:18 left in the 3rd quarter, West build a 37-29 lead, the biggest of the game so far. The Eagles battled back and tied the game at 43-43 going into the 4th quarter.
Gavin Olsen made a 3-pointer to start the scoring for the Wildcats on their opening possession of the 4th quarter. Gavin Miller made two three-pointer late the game to give West a 61-51 lead. West won 62-54.
Matt Erickson led the scoring with 18 points. Jacob Morrison, Jack O'Neill, and Gavin Miller all scored 9 points. Leo Cauble added 8 points and Gavin Olsen added 7 for the Wildcats.
